When you contact our team for gas line repiping, we will assess your home’s gas line and make recommendations based on our findings to either repair or repipe if necessary. Gas line repiping is the process of removing old gas lines and installing new ones throughout your home. Some of the most common indicators that your home needs new gas lines include:

gas piping

If you live in a home that is over 50 years old, it may be time to think about gas line repiping. Older homes are especially susceptible to damaged gas lines because once the protective galvanized coating deteriorates, your gas lines will start to rust. If your system is black iron pipe, it has limited protection against corrosion.

If you notice rust build up on your home’s gas lines, it’s a clear indication that you should act quickly. Delaying a repair or repiping service can cause more significant and dangerous issues later on.

cracked sealant icon

With older homes, the sealant that was used to assemble the connections dries out, compromising the seal. If you notice the sealant at the connections appear cracked, this may be a sign of a potential problem.

If you notice a significant increase in your home’s gas bill and more gas usage, it may be an indication of a leak in your gas line.

Gas has a very distinct odor due to a chemical additive called mercaptan. It is a harmless odor that helps identify a gas leak more quickly. It is most notably described as smelling like rotten eggs.

We went shopping for our daughter’s birthday party and came home 2 hours later with the first floor flooded. I called several plumbers before I called SWAGS Plumbing and Rooter. They responded and came about one hour later. The break was inside the walls and required leak detection. Before leaving for the weekend the plumber was able to determine that it was the hot water pipe that was leaking. This provided us with at least cold water during the party and for the weekend. When they came after the weekend they were able to determine where the leak came from on their first attempt. They opened the wall and repaired the pipe expeditiously. They were very professional and meticulous when it came to their work and our home. We were updated on a regular basis on their progress. They showed us where the leak was and what actually caused it. We were so fortunate that, on our third call to a plumber, we reached SWAGS Plumbing and Rooter and that they were available within an hour to come to the rescue. I would strongly recommend SWAGS Plumbing and Rooter for any type of plumbing and rooter service.

Daniel was punctual and systematically helped diagnose the source of the leak from our upstairs bathroom. Although the root cause was not specifically found to be a plumbing issue, he was able to refer us to appropriate contacts to assist. I highly recommend this business – honesty, integrity, and value are not in short supply with them! Thanks!

We had an undetectable water leak at our home. We had one plumbing company come out, and they were not able to find the issue. I called SWAGS and they came over the same day, discovered were the leak was, and had it repaired the next day! Their response time was amazing, their service technicians were very knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommend SWAGS Plumbing! Thank you for the wonderful experience. Any other plumbing needs we will definitely call them.

Techs arrived on time to fix a leaking shower. Completed the job carefully and in a timely manner. Techs were respectful, communicated clearly, and kept their work area clean (they wore masks and plastic shoe covers). Compared to other plumbing services I’ve hired in the past, their rates were fair and reasonable. Will consider using SWAGS again.
